SNOW SNOW SNOW!!

Saturday, December 12, 2009

For all of you who love to ski and snowmobile - have we got something for you! Over the last 3 days, we've had over 60 cms of snow in Dwight! It is beautiful. Here are a couple of photos taken yesterday as we were shovelling out the resort for the 2nd time in 3 days.

This first photo is from the parking spot at "A" cottage looking out toward our barn. We've already shovelled and blown a bunch of the snow at this point, and are waiting for the plow to come and do the rest!

Here's a photo of "C" cottage after we've removed some of the snow. Look at the roof - when it gets a bit warmer, there will be a big boom as the snow slides off (guess what our next snow clearing job will be...).

This is our office entry way - note that the stairs a bit unpassable...we usually don't even bother trying to shovel out that walkway. In the winter, our guests use the "family" entrance at the side!

Finally, here's Ross after 4 hours of snow blowing - doesn't he look happy?!

Snow!

Sunday, December 6, 2009

It's a beautiful winter wonderland here! We've had around 15 cms of snow with another 50 cms forecast for the next few days! The trees are all picture perfect - you should be here! Our seasonal special is still on until December 10th - stay 2 nights and get the 3rd night at half price. The local shops are decked out in their holiday cheer and ready to give you great deals!

Again this year, we have partnered with Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Resort and are able to offer our guests ski discount coupons. Visit their website at www.skihiddenvalley.on.ca for more information and trail listings.

We've started our Christmas decorating and have plans for the "big bake" next weekend. This week, we'll be heading over to Irwin Memorial Public School to enjoy the Christmas Play/Concert that the whole school has been rehearsing - can't wait!

We've already starting booking cottages for Christmas and New Year's so don't delay if you have a particular cottage that you'd like to stay in (perhaps once again). Also, take a look at our Summer 2010 reservations - we're already over 40% booked!! Don't be disappointed - book early!
